South Florida will see more sun and fewer showers on Thursday, Oct. 29, according to the CBS News Miami forecast. Highs are expected to reach the mid- to upper 80s in the afternoon after a mild start in the mid- to upper 70s.
A coastal flood advisory is in effect for minor to moderate flooding. The next high tide is at noon in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, and around 1:30 p.m. in Key West. Forecasters put the chance of rain low, though a few showers remain possible. Atlantic beaches face a high risk of dangerous rip currents, so swimmers should stay alert.
Boaters have no alerts or advisories for Atlantic or Keys waters. Friday will stay in the upper 80s with a chance of passing showers.
The weekend looks wetter. Rain chances rise, though forecasters do not expect a washout. Halloween, Saturday, will be warm and humid with highs in the mid- to upper 80s and low 80s in the evening, when trick-or-treaters head out. Sunset is at 6:40 p.m. Expect some scattered, soggy spells.
Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday at 2 a.m., when clocks fall back one hour.
