Some South Florida school districts will be closed to students on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, because public school buildings are being used as voting precincts for the general election.

Eligible voters across South Florida will cast ballots that day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In some counties, schools host voting sites, which is why districts there are adjusting their calendars.

WPBF 25 News published a list of which districts will and will not hold classes on election day. Parents should check their own district’s calendar before planning childcare or transportation for that Tuesday.
