Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is taking its adoptable pets and outreach programs into the community this fall, with a run of festivals, pet-friendly celebrations and special events across Palm Beach County through November.

The organization’s Peggy’s Pantry Fall Pet Food Drive runs October 1 through 31. It collects pet food for the Peggy’s Pantry Pet Food Bank, which helps Palm Beach County families who are struggling to keep their animals at home. Residents can also host their own food drives.

Recent stops included Mounts Botanical Garden’s Howl-O-Ween Dogs’ Day in the Garden on October 11 and the Cox Science Center & Aquarium Founder’s Day Festival on October 17, where the group helped launch the center’s new Cats & Dogs Exhibit. On October 24, the group is set to attend the City of Boca Raton’s free Howl-O-Ween, and on October 25 it will take part in a Blessing of the Animals at The Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea.

The season continues November 14 with the Bark Back Benefit in Lake Worth. The family music festival runs from noon to 9:30 p.m. and includes a first responder runway show and a chance to meet adoptable pets.

Dr. Alyssa Comroe, the league’s CEO, said each donation and adoption introduction helps the group’s work with homeless animals. Residents can learn about adoption, donations, fostering and volunteering at peggyadams.org.
