Several high school girls volleyball teams in Coconut Creek honored their seniors this week, and North Broward Prep captured a tournament championship.
North Broward Prep recognized seniors Jayda Palumbo and Annelisia Crocker, both members of last year’s state championship team. The Eagles then beat Miami Country Day School 25-15, 25-11, 25-23.
On Wednesday, North Broward Prep competed in the Palm League Tournament and won its second straight title. The Eagles defeated Saint Andrew’s and Pine Crest, sweeping both matches in two sets.
Monarch High honored seniors Aysha Ribeiro, Aliyah Gurreonero, Angelina Urt, Samantha Preddy, Gabriella Jimenez, Jensyn Clark and Bailee Sheehan on Tuesday against Somerset Academy. Monarch won the first two sets but lost the match, its third loss of the season. The Knights had opened the week with a win over Franklin Academy on Monday.
Coconut Creek High recognized its lone senior, Jesuany Rodriguez, before closing the regular season with a loss to Plantation High. The Cougars had earlier beaten Blanche Ely and Hallandale High. They now turn their attention to the District Tournament.
