A Palm Beach County man has filed a small claims lawsuit against the luxury resort The Boca Raton and its valet company, saying his Tesla came back cracked after he left it with the valet during a luncheon.
Arthur Spector filed the suit Thursday in Palm Beach County Court against The Boca Raton, LLC, which operates the hotel at 501 East Camino Real, and LAZ Parking Ltd, LLC, which runs the valet service. Spector is representing himself. He said he dropped off his 2023 Tesla Model Y on Feb. 17, 2026, and that the windshield had no visible damage at the time.
About two hours later, Spector said, he found a large crack on the driver’s side windshield and reported it to staff on the spot. According to the complaint, the defendants have refused to pay for the repair, despite demands he says he made the next day and repeatedly afterward by text, email and phone.
The lawsuit argues that handing over the car created a legal bailment, which requires the valet to return the vehicle in the same condition it was received. Spector contends that negligence is presumed because the car arrived undamaged and left cracked. He is seeking $1,544.25, the estimated cost of the windshield repair, plus court costs. The case number is 2026 SC 022713.
These are allegations in a civil filing, and the court has not ruled on the claims. The resort and LAZ Parking had not responded publicly to the complaint in the source report.
