The City of Coconut Creek has completed the Hillsboro Boulevard Multi-Use Pathway, a shared-use path of about 2,700 linear feet built along the north side of the road. The city presented the project in a year-in-review post marking Florida City Week.
The pathway is meant to make it safer and easier for pedestrians, bicyclists and transit riders to travel the corridor. It connects existing pedestrian facilities and nearby neighborhoods with the Helene Klein Pineland Preserve, and it ties into existing sidewalks and greenway trails.
The project also added landscaping, new and upgraded bus stops, a bike repair station and benches. The city said the improvements add connectivity while preserving the area’s natural character.
