Parkland native Caden Bennett has committed to continue his academic and lacrosse career at Hampton University in Virginia, according to a report from Parkland Talk.

“It feels really good to commit,” Bennett said. “I feel like I have been waiting on this moment my whole life and was really excited to finally make my decision.”

Bennett said he felt at home during his visit to the Hampton campus, and he and his family agreed it was the right fit.

He comes from a sports family. His father played eight seasons in the NFL as a fullback. His older brother, Coleman, signed with the Chicago Bears after the 2026 NFL Draft and also spent time with the Miami Dolphins this year.

Bennett started playing lacrosse at age eight with the Parkland Redhawks and Stealth Lacrosse. He is a junior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, where he appeared in 17 games as a sophomore. The Raiders finished that season ranked fourth in Florida and 20th nationally. Bennett also plays football for the Raiders, a team the report describes as the top-ranked team in the country.
