Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia is urging residents to take part in the November 3 General Election, which includes federal and statewide contests, local races and ballot questions. The column was published as the nation marks the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Early voting runs through November 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, at 28 locations across Miami-Dade County. Registered voters can cast a ballot at any of those sites, regardless of their assigned Election Day precinct.

Garcia said local races often have the most direct effect on daily life, from county services to neighborhood infrastructure. She encouraged voters to review their sample ballot before going to the polls and to learn about the candidates and questions in advance.

She also thanked Miami’s Community News for publishing the official sample ballot in recent editions.

Residents can find early voting locations, sample ballots and other election information at www.votemiamidade.gov or by calling 305-499-VOTE (8683).
