Drivers in Davie should avoid northbound State Road 7 after a crash early Wednesday morning shut down all three northbound lanes, according to Davie police. The closure runs from Orange Drive (Southwest 45th Street) to Oakes Road (Southwest 36th Street).

Officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of S. State Road 7 for a reported traffic crash. Video from the scene showed a van and a large recycling truck involved in the collision.

Police said three adult passengers in the van were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle stayed at the scene and was not taken to a hospital.

Traffic Homicide Detectives also responded and are continuing to investigate. Police said the crash does not appear to be criminal in nature. No other details were released.

Commuters heading north through Davie should plan for delays and use an alternate route until the lanes reopen.
