Havana Harry’s reopened Monday, Oct. 19, at its longtime home on Le Jeune Road in Coral Gables after more than a year closed. The restaurant, founded in 1995, is known for large portions, a wide menu and Cuban comfort food.

The closure followed a failed state health inspection in June 2025 that found live roaches and other violations. The restaurant passed a follow-up inspection the next day and met state standards in August. Later that month, Coral Gables officials ordered it closed over building issues, including reported electrical and permitting concerns. Ownership said it made improvements to the kitchen, plumbing and interior during the shutdown.

Centurion Restaurant Group, which bought Havana Harry’s in 2022, now runs the business. Founder Carlos Centurion said the goal was to keep what guests loved while serving the community for years to come. The renovated dining room has green leather booths, mosaic tiles, tropical greenery and Cuban-inspired artwork.

The menu keeps its core dishes, including ropa vieja, arroz con pollo, lechoncita, Cuban sandwiches, croquetas and tostones. Chicken vaca frita is also featured. Flan, tres leches and the oversized “Overdose” milkshakes are back.

Lunch and dinner are served daily, and breakfast returns Dec. 1. Diners who spend at least $10 through Oct. 26 can get a free mojito, Cuban-style tamal, dulce de leche flan or cafe Cubano. The restaurant is at 4612 S. LeJeune Rd., and its phone number is 305-661-2622.
