Republican super PAC cancels $6 million in ads against Moskowitz

A Republican super PAC tied to House GOP leadership has canceled $6 million in planned ads in Congressional District 25, a sign it has given up on unseating Rep. Jared Moskowitz.

The Conservative Leadership Fund, a super PAC associated with Speaker Mike Johnson and House Republican leadership, has canceled a $6 million ad buy in Florida’s 25th Congressional District, Punchbowl News reported. The planned ads would have targeted Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz of Parkland and supported Republican nominee Scott Singer.

The cancellation suggests the group has stopped trying to oust Moskowitz, who is seeking a third term. The National Republican Congressional Committee still lists him as a target, but election forecasters have increasingly viewed him as likely to hold the seat. Sabato’s Crystal Ball moved the race toward Democrats earlier this month and now rates it “Leans Democratic.” Cook Political Report this week moved it from “Toss Up” to “Lean D.”

Moskowitz’s fundraising has also helped. He raised nearly $2.1 million from July 30 to Sept. 30, bringing his cycle total above $5 million. Singer raised less than $686,000 in the same period and had about $3 million raised for the cycle, including more than $724,000 in candidate loans. At the start of October, Singer had less than $560,000 cash on hand, compared with more than $1.8 million for Moskowitz.

The district itself was redrawn mid-decade under a new congressional map signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis. The new 25th stretches along the Atlantic Coast from Boca Raton, where Singer was mayor until earlier this year, south to Miami Beach. Under the new lines, nearly 54% of voters backed Donald Trump in 2024, while less than 45% supported Kamala Harris.
