Soul singer Allen Stone and R&B artist Teedra Moses will perform together Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Miramar Cultural Center, 2400 Civic Center Place. Tickets start at $81.
Stone, who blends soul, funk and R&B, told WSVN’s Deco Drive that audiences often describe his shows as church-like. He said he still feels surprised each time people listen closely to his songs. He named Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin as early influences.
Stone said he plans to sing tunes such as “Mystery,” “Can’t Explain This Love” and “Sweet Little Rainbows” during the night. He said he looks forward to meeting Moses and hearing her music.
Stone is also preparing his fifth studio album, expected next year. His latest single, “Dreams,” comes from that project. He said he has spent about a year trying to title the record and floated “The Sounds of Life” as a possibility, though he has not settled on a name.
For residents of Miramar and nearby Broward communities, the show offers a weekend night out at a city venue. Full ticket details are available through the cultural center.
