Coral Springs Charter School senior Madisyn Bagot is serving as president of the school’s Interact Club, a service organization she has belonged to since sixth grade. The school’s Interact advisor, Daniella Oliveira, said Bagot is a positive leader who cares about club members.
Bagot, who carries a 4.1 grade point average, volunteers on weekends at Saving Sage Animal Rescue, where she works with kittens. She has also helped prepare shoes for people experiencing homelessness through In Jacob’s Shoes and has taken part in beach cleanups.
The club holds meetings with public speaking and leadership training, which Bagot said are designed to help members gain confidence and skills. About 30 students are members, and she said she would like to see more join.
Oliveira, who teaches Global Perspectives, said she and Bagot are working to recruit members. The club plans a shoe drive for In Jacob’s Shoes. Last weekend, Interact hosted a Halloween event in which students visited three classrooms with horror movie themes.
