The Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team lost 29-28 to Forest Hill High School on Thursday in a Senior Night game that the Eagles led for much of the second half. The Eagles honored 14 seniors before the game.

MSD trailed early after allowing a touchdown on the opening kickoff, then tied the score on a touchdown run by Chase Pavlish. Forest Hill scored twice more before Anthony Diaz broke free for a long touchdown to cut the deficit to seven.

Keegan Lake scored on the opening drive of the second half, and a safety gave the Eagles a 22-21 lead. Forest Hill answered with a touchdown and a two-point conversion to retake the lead. MSD got a late touchdown on a long run by Diaz, but it was not enough.

Liam Haber recorded a forced fumble and an interception on defense. The loss drops MSD to 1-7 this season.

The Eagles host the next game against J.P. Taravella on Friday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. The Trojans are also 1-7, with their only win coming against Northeast High School.
