The City of Deerfield Beach is offering a four-part astronomy and star gazing series called Celestial Nights, with sessions held at different outdoor spots around the city from November through February.
The first session is Nov. 18 at the 10th Street Wedding Deck. Later sessions are set for Dec. 16 at the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier, Jan. 20 at Constitution Park and Feb. 17 at the Oveta McKeithen Recreational Complex.
Each session runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The evening starts with an astronomy speaker at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., attendees can choose between stargazing through a telescope or a space STEAM activity. The night wraps up at 7:30 p.m. with an AstroArt activity.
The cost is $5 per class. Residents and visitors can register online at dfb.city/register. The city said spaces are limited, so people should sign up early.
