Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami Beach opened for its 114th season on Oct. 16, bringing back the restaurant’s signature stone crabs along with other seafood options.
The historic restaurant claims to be the first in the world to serve Florida stone crabs. Diners new and old can order the crabs starting Oct. 16.
Chief operating officer Stephen Sawitz said the reopening is one of the most festive times of the year for the restaurant. Crab boats are back on the water, he said, and staff returned a little over a week ago for roll call and training.
“They’re all excited, now they can’t wait to reopen,” Sawitz said.
Joe’s Stone Crab will remain open until May 1.
