A Delray Beach man faces a felony charge after police said he failed to disclose his HIV status to another person, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The Delray Beach Police Department said the investigation started in August 2026, when a person contacted police and alleged that Mickerlange Jules knew or suspected he was HIV-positive but did not tell them. Jules denied having been diagnosed, according to the affidavit.
Investigators later recorded a phone call with Jules in September. The affidavit says he maintained during that call that no one had told him he had HIV.
Police obtained a search warrant for Jules’ medical records on Sept. 30. On Oct. 7, investigators said they received about 390 pages of records from the Florida Department of Health. Police concluded from those records that Jules knew his HIV status and had been informed of disclosure requirements, the affidavit states.
Based on the investigation, police said they found probable cause to charge Jules with one felony count.
