The City of Fort Lauderdale held a ribbon-cutting Thursday for the new Prospect Lake Clean Water Center, according to a post on the city’s Instagram account.
The plant is designed to treat up to 50 million gallons of water per day. The city cites a $666 million investment in the project.
The city said the facility was engineered for severe weather and long-term reliability and is designed to withstand Category 5 hurricane-force winds. Water is treated with advanced nanofiltration and ion exchange processes, the post said.
