A 43-year-old Coral Springs woman was arrested Oct. 13 after a disturbance at EOS Gym, 2322 North University Drive, led police to a family home where three relatives, including a 70-year-old woman, were allegedly attacked, according to Coral Springs Police Department arrest records.
Theresa Kay Brown was trespassed from the property at the employee’s request. Officers said she appeared extremely agitated, was sweating heavily and swayed while talking with them. According to the arrest affidavit, she repeatedly said her brother had battered her, asked for a Black officer to respond and shouted profanities at gym patrons. The responding officer suspected she might be under the influence.
Instead of dismissing her claims, officers went to her mother’s residence and interviewed the family members. Relatives told investigators that Brown fought with several of them, tried to take car keys and a cellphone, and ripped necklaces from family members during the struggles.
Brown was taken to Broward Health Coral Springs for medical clearance and then booked into the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Main Jail. The charges listed in the source are not detailed beyond the assault allegations, and the case remains an arrest, not a conviction.
