The fast-growing cookie chain Crumbl has closed at least 57 stores in 2026, and its Florida footprint is shrinking. The only Florida location confirmed closed so far is in Jupiter, at 1695 West Indiantown Road, according to industry reports. The state still has 71 Crumbl stores.
Customer traffic has fallen sharply, and one franchise operator has filed for bankruptcy. Sales in August 2026 were 70 percent lower than two years earlier, according to an internal company document cited by Restaurant Business. Placer.ai data cited by Inc. showed traffic across the chain’s more than 1,000 locations down 32 percent from a year earlier.
The company has not published a full list of closures. Fast Company confirmed closures in 10 states, including Florida, and an unofficial tracker also lists stores in Alabama and New Jersey.
Why it matters locally
Crumbl operates through independent franchises, so results vary by market. Restaurant franchise experts quoted in the report said rapid expansion can leave stores competing for customers in areas that cannot support so many locations.
A push into dirty sodas, which CEO Jason McGowan projected in 2025 would lift sales by 20 percent, did not produce the expected increase, according to Inc. McGowan has acknowledged the company’s problems and accepted responsibility for its performance.
