Miami Dade College’s Miami Fashion Institute and Istituto Marangoni Miami have created a transfer pathway that lets graduates move directly into a bachelor’s degree, the two schools announced.
Under the agreement, MFI graduates who earn an associate of science in fashion design can transfer into IMM’s Bachelor of Fine Arts programs in fashion design or fashion styling. Admission still depends on IMM’s admissions, prerequisite and degree requirements. Students who finish the associate degree at MFI will be treated as having met IMM’s general education requirements.
The deal also includes scholarships. IMM will award one 100% talent-based scholarship and three 50% talent-based scholarships. All MDC fashion graduates will be eligible for a 25% MDC scholarship, even if they also win one of the larger awards, and that aid can be combined with other scholarships.
To help transfers, the schools plan transfer guides that show which MFI courses apply, personalized advising and an individual academic plan. IMM will also hold a special orientation for transfer students. The institutions said they may also collaborate on campus visits, virtual information sessions and joint programming.
MFI offers associate degrees in fashion design and fashion merchandising.
