Miramar Emergency Management has completed its 30th Basic CERT, or Community Emergency Response Team, training class, the city said in a post on Instagram.
The eight-week program trains community volunteers to respond when emergencies happen. CERT members provide immediate help with fire safety, basic medical needs and light search and rescue, and they support first responders during the critical first minutes of an incident.
Residents interested in becoming CERT-trained should contact Miramar Fire: Emergency Management for information about upcoming classes.
