Florida Grand Opera is presenting a free fall series of SongFest Recital Series performances in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The concerts are designed to introduce audiences to the company’s artists, and tickets are free with an RSVP.
The lineup includes five programs. First Sing features arias, duets and ensemble pieces from the operatic repertoire. Rhythms & Reflections focuses on Latin American art songs that draw on poetry, folklore and dance.
The Sound of Applause showcases Broadway classics, including ballads, big numbers and ensemble favorites. Love Letters: Songs of Romance, Devotion and Desire presents works by composers including Donaudy, Tosti, Hahn, Fauré and Strauss, inspired by real-life romances and artistic muses. The season closes with Final Sing, a finale of favorite arias and ensemble pieces performed by company artists.
Readers can reserve tickets online or by calling the FGO Ticket Office at 800-741-1010. The limit is four tickets per household. The source did not list dates or times for each performance, so check the company’s ticketing channels for schedules before attending.
