The City of Tamarac has launched a Public Records and Information Center, a single online portal where residents can search city information, pull up public records, download reports and file or track records requests.

The portal gathers City Commission agendas and records, meeting videos with searchable closed captions, city ordinances, the Land Development Code, election and campaign finance information, public service requests and financial transparency resources.

A new AI-powered search lets users type keywords or ask questions in plain language. The tool pulls from several city systems and returns answers with links to source documents. Users can pick Basic or Advanced search, or limit a search to one information source.

Other features include routinely requested reports that can be downloaded as PDF, Excel or CSV files without a records request, and a repository of agendas, minutes, resolutions and ordinances. Residents can also submit a new public records request or check the status of one already filed through the city’s request system.

City officials said the goal is to help people find information that is already public, shorten the wait for common records and improve the experience of dealing with city government online.
