South Florida PBS, which operates WPBT and WXEL, has received 24 nominations for the 2026 Regional Emmy Awards from the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The nominations cover programs made by station staff and outside production partners.

Winners will be announced at the Suncoast Regional Emmy 50th Anniversary Awards Gala on Saturday, Dec. 5, at The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood.

Among the station’s nominated original productions are “Soundtrack of The Palm Beaches” from the magazine program “On The Town in The Palm Beaches,” several installments of the “Changing Seas” series, and “Rooted in Florida,” which includes a vegetable garden guide and a segment on identifying invasive plants. The children’s programming “KidVision” also earned nods, including an episode about living in space. “The Everglades: A Symphony of Life” is nominated in the environment and science category.

Partner productions include “Guardians of the Blue with Maddy Molina,” made with the Coral of Life Foundation, and “Ana y La Distancia,” made with Coneme.

South Florida PBS President and CEO Dolores Fernandez Alonso said the nominations recognize the staff and partners behind the work and thanked viewers and supporters for making the stories possible.
