The City of Deerfield Beach and the American Cancer Society will host the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Constitution Park and Arboretum on Saturday, Oct. 17. The walk runs from 10 a.m. to noon, and participants are encouraged to wear pink.
Organizers say the event honors survivors, supports people currently fighting the disease and raises awareness. The park is at 2841 W. Hillsboro Blvd.
Walkers can register or donate through makingstrides.org/deerfieldbeach or by scanning a QR code shared in the city’s post. Those who want to give household goods can drop off clothing, shoes and household items at three city sites: Constitution Park, the Hillsboro Community Center at 50 Hillsboro Technology Dr., and the Johnny L. Tigner Center at 445 SW 2nd St.
