The Women’s Club of Coconut Creek is looking for local food businesses to take part in its first annual Chili Cook-Off, a fundraiser that supports student scholarships and teacher grants.

The event is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Sabal Pines Park. It will run during the city’s Fall Harvest Festival.

Licensed and insured restaurants, food trucks and other food-service businesses are invited to donate five gallons of chili and serve samples to festival visitors. Participants can promote their businesses and compete for community awards.

Organizers want businesses to confirm by Monday, Oct. 12, so the city can provide full support for the inaugural event. Interested businesses can request an application and competition guidelines by emailing President@womensclubcoconutcreek.com.
