A Parkland mother with no software development background has used artificial intelligence to build a gift-planning app for iPhone. The app, GivWrap, is available in 175 countries and is free through Apple’s App Store.

Ali Rogove, who has worked in public relations for more than 20 years and moved to Parkland from Long Island seven years ago, said holiday shopping lists, birthday gifts and family wishlists were the push behind the project. She said gift ideas were scattered across notes, screenshots, text messages and Amazon lists, and she kept losing track of what she had already bought.

GivWrap lets users paste product links from nearly any retailer. The app saves photos, prices and product details, then sorts gifts by recipient or occasion. It also tracks purchases, wrapping status, budgets and gift-giving history.

Rogove said she started with the website builders Base44 and Lovable, then moved to native iPhone development using Rork, Claude Code and Codex. She described the work as similar to managing a team, since different tools handle different jobs. She said she still made the key decisions herself.

The app launched on the App Store in June. Rogove said users have downloaded it in 32 states and six countries. She plans to bring GivWrap to Android and keep adding features.
