The 35th annual Miami Pen Show is moving to Fort Lauderdale this weekend, with doors open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, and Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina Hotel, 1881 SE 17th Street.

The show brings fountain pens, colored inks, vintage collectibles and stationery under one roof. Exhibitors will be on hand to answer questions, and visitors can take part in workshops. Organizers say the event is open to casual visitors as well as serious collectors.

The show keeps its Miami name despite the change of venue. Organizers describe the waterfront hotel as a welcoming setting for the anniversary year.

One-day and two-day passes are available. Seniors, students, military personnel and first responders qualify for discounted admission.
